In addition to eagerly awaiting my Amazon delivery, I was also asked to appear on live TV as a “superfan” to discuss the memoir. I had never heard of Scripps News, but I was intrigued by their nonpartisan stance.
A programming producer reached out to me after reading a post on my Barbra Streisand website about some of my rare collectibles, including Barbra champagne, personalized license plates, a signed check, and a five-foot cardboard standee from the 1970s.
I jumped at the chance to talk about “the greatest star” from Funny Girl fame! I received a link for the interview and was reminded to look at the camera light, not the computer screen.
I logged in, chatted briefly with the tech producer, and then went live with anchor Lauren Magarino. She was easy to talk to and gave me great energy. Since I wasn’t supposed to look at my screen, I didn’t see what she looked like until after the segment was over!
My TV Interview
YouTube Channel
The whole experience was amazing. Everyone I spoke to or interacted with was professional and kind. I’ve also posted the interview on my new YouTube channel, which is dedicated to my love of Barbra.
I’m so grateful for the opportunity to share my passion with others. Through my admiration of Barbra Streisand, I’ve met so many wonderful people. And after a six-decade career, there’s never a shortage of things to talk about!
I’m hoping that my copy of the new autobiography will be waiting for me when I get home today. I can’t wait to savor each of the almost 1000 pages! It’s been a long time coming.
